Oasis Relief

Registered Charity No:1181996

'Oasis Relief ' is a small UK based charity, founded in 2005 through links between Christian communities in the UK and Zambia. The charity works closely with Pastors Paul Swala and Kwatcha in Lusaka, who co-ordinate the projects on the ground.

115 boreholes have been sunk, providing clean safe water to about 80,000 people! Each borehole costs approximately £1,600 (Dependant on exchange rate). Two community schools are supported, ‘Good Shepherd’ and ‘Hope In Christ’ Also two health clinics and a skills centre. The charity's trustees go out to Zambia each year, at their own expense, to supervise the digging of the boreholes and visit the schools and health clinics.

They never use donated monies for administrative costs and pay local people to work with them, encouraging community ownership of all projects.

The charity brings joy to;
* Children; who can access an education they never thought possible,
* Villages; who can access safe water for the first time,
*Those who are sick; who can access healthcare,
*Those with no skills; who can learn skills which enable them to access employment.

Fundraiser for Oasis Relief

Total Raised £1115

I am overwhelmed to be able to tell you that we have raised £1115, not including any gift aid we may receive. Having only had a Borehole Challenge at Christmas, where we raised £2110, I was being very optimistic running another one so soon after and did not expect to raise even this much. Your generosity is overwhelming. Bernadette and Pam, the 2 trustees of the charity, are flying out to Zambia on 5th October , at their own expense to supervise 8 more boreholes being dug, and to see how the schools and clinics are getting on. They are also taking with them some school uniforms that have been generously donated. This is why I ran another one so soon, so they had as much funds as possible to take with them.

When I started the fundraisers it was costing about £2000 to sink a borehole. Since then the exchange rate has gone in our favour and it is now about £1500 to sink a borehole. So, as we have raised £3225 plus some gift aid, we will be able to pay for 2 of the boreholes. These will be dedicated to From The Annexe and when they return from Zambia I will post some photos so that you can see what you have donated for.

I cannot thank you all enough!!!

And don’t forget that every £2 donated brings water to a child and every £10 water to a family. It is truly life changing.

You can continue to donate at any time.

Oasis Relief Borehole 2022 Fundraiser.
Total Amount Raised £2110 !!!

When I started this fundraiser with the launch of the website on October 1st 2022, I thought it was far too ambitious to expect to raise £2000 by 29th December. However, I am overwhelmed to be able to tell you that the target has been achieved. Whilst the figure on the Facebook Fundraiser only shows £1374 raised, funds have come in from other sources, and with the gift aid received on these donations we have a final total £2120. Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who has donated. So many people will benefit from your generosity. A borehole will be sunk later next year and I will post details and photos of it’s location so that you can see exactly how your money has been put to use.

From The Annexe, as a fundraising musical venture, will still continue for as long as I can keep the music and the artwork flowing. I’m going to be adding some more artwork soon, and a new single is being released on 27th January. You can still donate at any time. And please, keep up to date with what is happening; follow us on Facebook, sign up for the mailing list, subscribe to the YouTube channel. I can only do this with your help.

And once again a big THANK YOU!!!!
